Local Priorities

Anti-social behaviour in the Abbey Road area and drug dealing are a current priority for this area

Status Update

As part of ongoing engagement work, officers recently joined local councillors in a community litter pick on Abbey Road, helping to improve the environment and strengthen links with residents.
Officers also stopped a group of males in the area, during which one male was found in possession of drugs and a significant amount of cash.
The team will continue to work with partners and maintain a visible presence to deter further offending and support the community

Ruskin drive ASB- Youths causing issues at the fitness class.

Status Update

Local policing officers have conducted frequent patrols to the area, conducted an environmental assessment with the staff at the sports centre and given crime prevention advice to design out crime. Staff at the sports centre identified some of the youths responsible and spoke to the local school which has led to a decrease in reports.

Ketamine misuse Cowley high and surrounding area

Status Update

Local policing, schools officers and partners continue to work with Cowley High school in relation to ketamine use in the area. YPDAAT support service regularly attend to provide advice and support, highlighting the dangers of its use. The schools officer advises there has been a decrease in the number of cases in the school as the main offenders have been identified and left the school.

Drug dealing Windle Hall Drive

Status Update

Local policing officers established there was a problematic address on Windle Hall Drive, with people the occupier allowed to frequent the address. Joint visits conducted on numerous occasions and housing issued a warning in relation to the issues and people allowed into the property. There have been no further reports since this advice.

Anti-social behaviour/ Lighting small fires, is an issue for the residents in the Victoria Park area.

Status Update

Local Policing officers have been working with internal and external partners to combat this issue. The team secured funding from partners to provide outreach in the area during key times, extra attention and education in schools by MFRS and offered diversionary activities through VIBE outreach games bus. Activities were well received in the area.
